Poem by Softpaw, written for her Dragon
*takes your hands and starts a slow
waltz*
Come...Dance with me my love
Dance with me in the Meadows of
springtime,
amid the myriad of flowers newly
bloomed,
when the world is beginning to
be reborn.
When the air is fresh and filled
with the
gentle scent of new flowers.
And the whole world sings of new
love.
Come...Dance with me my love
Dance with me in the forests of
summer,
among the moss covered oaks of
olden time.
Where the old magic still dwells
in it's
most powerful forms. Ebbing from
rocks
and trees and even hanging thickly
in the air.
And the whole world speaks of peace.
Come...Dance with me my love
Dance with my by the rivers of autumn,
along the rocky shores of water
worn stones.
Where the falling leaves flow gently
along the currents.
And the world starts to settle
into its yearly rest.
Come...Dance with me my love
Dance with me in the Mountains of
winter,
atop their craggy majestic peaks.
As the snow drifts down to coat
the
ground in its frigid embrace.
And the world sleeps to await rebirth.
Come...Dance with me my love
Dance with me in the timeless vault
of stars,
the Milky Way the dance floor.
Where comets make the light and
the
music is that of the spheres.
And the world below us looks tiny
and wondrous.
Come...Dance with me my love
Dance with me among the Fae,
in their mushroom circled rings.
Where magic is bright and time
stands still.
And the world is not the one we
know of.
Come...Dance with me my love
Dance with me among the dragons,
deep within the mountain's lair.
Where wisdom seeps from the very
stones
and we dance atop a king's ransom.
And the world holds still awaiting
the dragons to speak.
Come...Dance with me my love
Dance with me in the depths of the
ocean,
in the halls of the palace of Neptune.
Where the merfolk swim about us,
tails and fins
shimmering in the half-light of
glowing rocks.
And the world is a swirl with colors
not seen on dry land
Come...Dance with me my love
Dance with me, for the rest of our
lives,
in our love and joy. Through
spring and summer, autumn and winter.
Through times of ease and times
of hardship,
Forever and always.
And the world... the world will
be... for us... perfect.
