Hello and welcome to our Java chat room! Its the easiest way to chat and role play in Gilded rose. 

You are already being automatically connected to both the Role play room and the OOC chat room. Your default name will be WebUser to change your name simply type /nick yournewnick and hit enter.

To tell which room you are looking at and which on you are not, go by the colors. The channel with the name in Dark blue is the one you are looking at. By default the channel to show up when you first connect is the OOC room. Channel windows that are red have text you have not read in them. You can also privately message people with this interface. Those will show up next to the status box and use the same color system as channel windows.

Those with a @ next to their nicks are the Ops. Ask them for any help if you need it. And do be sure to read our FAQ and our RULES.

The hours you will most likely find people awake and around are in the very early mornings and late at night, using US time, around 9 pm - 7 am central basically. We tend to be a lot of night owls and also many of us work in the day.

Some chat command basics
Knowing and using these commands will make things much easier on you and others in your chatting and your Role-play.

To change your nick type /nick yournewnick and hit enter

To change colors in the middle of your post hit ctrl K then a number. Most commonly used are 1 *black* for speech 6 *purple* for action. 14 *dark grey* is also at times used for speech. 

Other colors can be used but they have specific uses. And NEVER use numbers 13, 8, 9, or 11. They are very bright colors and hurt people's eyes.


type /me and then some action text to have a post that looks like * Softpaw then takes a few steps away.
