*The sage settles himself by the fire. Joints popping as he eases his aged form in to the char, with eyes that hold knowledge of thousands of years he turns to look at the one asking the questions* so young pup. You want to know about the head chef Adar. Well come settle down. I shale tell you a tale…
Just before he hatched Adair’s nest was attacked, his parents, nest-mates were all killed. After the attack, When Adar was found; the gold's that attacked saw the possibility for good in him. They showed mercy on him and took him to rise as one of their own.  Most of this early past is lost to history only one knows for sure. Perhaps you should as him yourself?  However that of witch is known; the details are far too dark and grizzly to speak of here.  What can be said is that the dark queen Takhisis got to Adar. She seduced him in to her dark hold; being red it was near imposable for him to resist the call of his dark goddess. He turned on the gold's that took him in, killing most. Then he took to terrorizing the surrounding lands until he join the Dragon army, and latter the Dark Knights of Takhisis. Being one of the most prized fighters in both cases. After the summer of Chaos, when the gods fled his world and her hold lost on him, Adar became aware of his horrific acts. He still lives which this shame and guilt even to this day and he strives to make up for his dark deeds.
When he was younger he was not of large size, and he had to rely on his magic to defeat his foes. And even though the blood in his veins now is mixed with other colors, and his size and ability has changed. His love of magic has not. This love for spells is what has saved him. Though now he dose not tap in to his dark magic. Perhaps it’s knowing death from both the giving and receiving end, Perhaps it is something or someone else that has mad him this way, made him much more docile than before.
After the gods fled, and Adar forced to deal with his guilt, he took to wandering. Assuming the form of a human warrior, he soon found a land that suited him. Taking to a local tavern he started to make friends. Never reveling his true form. But as it is with hidden pasts they all to soon catch up.  Now you see it came to be that the town he lived in was attacked. Adar tried to save it but in doing so he showed his true form. Then betrayed by the vary people he tried to protect. He was not able to defend himself and thus he died. Well died is not quite right. His body was destroyed yes, but he was able to cast a Mind Throw spell. Placing his mind in the body of a near by kender. From there he was soon to find a way to return. In its wanderings the kender came upon a dead gold dragon. Taking control of the poor kender and casting a vary powerful spell Adar was able to put his mind in to that of the dragons corps contorting its body into one similar to his old one.
Once again he took to his human form. Once again he took to wandering. Once again he found a land he liked. Once again he started to make friends. This time though he found more. She was not afraid of his true form. For it was hers as well. Alas this coupling was not to be. Soon after he had at last begun to heal in a land that he might call home and with a person he cared. Once again he was attacked. Ambushed by a fearsome creature, he fought well but he was out classed. His body torn he once again turned to his Mind Throw spell. Had he known, his Mate-to-be had joined the fight and too was mortally wounded. Things might have been different. Maybe... Maybe not? They found them that way, the creature dead between them. What they did not find was Adar, Looking through the eyes of and imp hiding near the grizzly seen. Soon though that imp aimed by Adar will find a weakened dyeing black dragon…
One last time he took to his human form. One last time he took to wandering. One last time he has found a place to call home and people to call friends. For the first time he has found love. Though now it is different. He has shown his true form, and nothing. He has expressed his love, and nothing. Could it be? Is he at long last forgiven for his dark crimes? Or is this high point going to be the stage for his greatest fall ever? I cannot say for sure. What I can say is now he has a true love, true friends. A true home at last. One from witch he will not wander.
*Lighting his pipe the sage leans back in his char lessoning to the crackle of burning wood in the hearth* that is what is known of your teacher’s past young pup. A summery yes, but the rest is a tale for another fire…
