Born almost twentysix years ago as the son of an accountant and his wife, Val's early years were happy ones without any great mishaps or dramas.
Always kind-of the odd one out, at school, he learned early on that he had a special taste for performing arts and music in particular, and he started to learn how to play the guitar. His teen years came, and things started to go slightly downhill in his family. His mother ran off with another man, and his father tried his best to give Val a supporting family bond, but there was always something missing.

About the same time period he met with a few new friends, who were talking about starting their own metal band, and asked Val, who had become quite proficient on his guitar, to help them with the idea. So, the Gothic Metal band Asgard was founded, with Val as lead guitar player and male vocalist, and his good friend Siren as lead female vocalist. A few years later, though, right after one particular concert, he found himself portaled to a new place, unable to return.

That place was Rosepeak, on the world of Chaconne, where he met a young woman by the name of Isolde. Isolde's youth had been very much like his, growing up in a happy family, until her mother passed away. Things went downhill from there. Her mother having been an angel, her father a demon, them being together balanced out the family, but after her mother died, there was nothing to counter her father's demonic nature, and Isolde's life turned into a living hell.

Only with Val's arrival on Chaconne and the love that grew between them was Isolde able to break free of her father's iron hold, and with the help of some friends, Jara, Ger, Pi and Softpaw, were finally able to defeat a brotherhood of demons who's sole purpose in life was to rain misery on their children. With his love finally free of her father's evil doings, Val decided to stay on Chaconne to remain at her side and help her slowly piece together a happy life.
