The Ajeyans are a race very similar to many around the rosepeak area.  At times they are very easily mistaken for humans.  At other times, the partially educated might mistake them for fae cats.  The Ajeyans are a very different race from either however, and from a different realm.
Ajeyans are a race of once catlike humanoids who had both angelic and demonic blood (Specifically, Archon and Sucubus, respectively) mixed into the line at some point.  Due to this, most differences in their body from those of humans can be made to cancel. In this state, to anyone who doesn't know what to look for, they look like humans.  They are usually slightly stronger and more agile in this state than a normal human however.  Also, they are usually tall, around 5'9" to 6'4" on average.  On their home realm, due to magic forces and such, this is the only form they can take.
However, on other realms, these magic forces aren't always in such balance.  In such realms, they can take a form that is more evident of their heritage.  Their ears take on a more catlike appearance, their fingers become clawed, and they grow a catlike tail.  Also, very bizarre wings grow from their back, bat like but feathered along the back.  The ears, tails, and lower extremities (from the elbow to the hand or knee to the foot) are covered in a soft layer of fur.  They aren't usually very good at flight however due to the fact that this only happens when away from their natural home, so they don't get much practice.
In some cases, with a little effort, they can make enough of a change in the forces around them enough to change between these two states at will.  This is the case in the rosepeak area.
Their hair, eye, and skin color could be nearly anything, and their eye color usually shifts from red to a different color depending on their mood or exhaustion.  Fur color and the wing membrane color could also be a different color from their hair or skin as well.  Such coloration can vary greatly, even between siblings and parents.  However, the feathers on the wings are always white.
Ajeyans are a highly magical race, usually some sort of magical talent is evident in any given individual.  Their native language is actually a simplified version of the language used in magic incantations.  Sometimes this leads them to speaking with a strange almost phonetic accent.  All ajeyans also have a familiar creature after the age of ten, which looks after their well being, and ajeyan family names are usually derived from the first familiar to to be used in a particular bloodline.  Ajeyan familiars are usually around for several generations, and are often quite powerful as a result.
Also, all ajeyans have a few unusual senses.  Their sense of hearing and smell are far better than that of a human, and can tell certain scents instinctively that most creatures can't smell at all.  Also, when in close proximity to an undead creature, a form of adrenaline that increases their strength and speed as well as their ability to heal their body is released into their bloodstream.  It has also been known to make their blood repulsive to the undead, and theoretically it can bring them fully back to life.
Ajeyans are a mostly tribal people, preferring warmer climates usually.  They typically dress in simple leather clothing, slotted in the back or along the sides for those who go out of their realm and need to account for wings.  However, some will wear human clothing in places where they might run into humans to blend in.
Ajeyans have been known to have a slightly naive streak to them about the behavior of other races.  The males are usually somewhat passive and females more aggressive, in general, so it might seem like males are subservient to the females at first.  However, the idea of any form of hierarchical structure in a society is completely lost on them, and concepts like 'royalty' or 'slavery' are downright sickening to them.  They are also rather liberal.  Although they don't have any concept for marriage or monogamy, a male that sires a child will undoubtedly stay with the mother to help raise that child if he is capable of doing so.  Cases have even been recorded where a female leaves the children completely in the care of their father before.
