Welcome to the Gilded Rose Inn & Academy Wiki!

While we're working on generating content, don't forget to join us via IRC on the Nightstar IRC Network:

To get the most out of IRC, we suggest using mIRC, as it is one of the more robust IRC programs. Please feel free to use the guide to mIRC.

You can also join us without an IRC client via our Ajax-based Mibbit page, which will automatically connect and join our server.

GRIWiki News

Updated again, things broke, themes went with, soon to be fixing.

A fresh update, not a replacement. Hopefully, what ever was plaguing the old index page is cleared up.

Wiki Upgrade Time! Due to problems in the original upgrade process, this is a completely new wiki installation. Pages might not be there. Refer to the Old Wiki in case you still need a particular page.

You may not register. Talk to me, and I'll make your account.

New Template:Owner, and an additional change was made to the Template:Character, which asks that you put a triple tilde in (~~~) to add a signature to pages you specifically own.

We're also working on a Minecraft duplication of GRI. Talk to Bryan for more information.

Made the system deny any new user. Blacklist and CAPTCHA were not working to the best abilities.

Added Timeline plugin.

Created a new template for characters. Please see Template:Character, and Adding Pages for examples.

Added new blacklist tool for spam accounts, since they were still coming in. Now they should be denied from the user account creation.

That got fixed, in a hurry. Now, if you find you can't edit a page, you'll need to confirm your email address. Check your Preferences for more info.

We recently had a handful of bots break through the security of the site and post some pharm ads. I've cleared up the posts and deleted the bot accounts, but I'll have to look into fixing the hole they found.

Okay, did a lot of extra stuff that just helps. Templates were added for navigation past the Table of Contents, and a few useful templates were added (such as {{TOCright}}. I wanted to add in the NavBar template, but something is either missing or broken, and I can't figure out what. There were lots of little updates on pages to add these templates, but it should help make navigation smoother.

9/12/2008 - Search box was broken as well. Seems some database tables were not created on the changeup from 1.11 to 1.13. Also edited the Navigation box to make things look better (Table of Contents instead of Community Portal).

9/5/2008 - Recently we had a problem on the webserver that made the Wiki unavailable. With that fixed now, I'm moving to make the fixes complete. Updated to the latest version of the MediaWiki software (1.13), and fixed a problem with the database (a table wasn't created in the upgrade process). The ReCaptcha is still in action, and we're fully back in action! If anyone finds a problem, please let me know!

6/5/2008 - If you just passed over the front page again, and didn't look, I've set in BOLD the new guide to mIRC. It's not fancy, but it should help anyone to get connected.

2/8/2008 - I've finally gotten the wiki back up and running! Users will need to re-create their usernames just as they were (yes, even Case Sensitive names). Unfortunately, we had to roll back to an older database. See the date below this? That's how old it is. Sorry. OH! And any links anyone finds that say Offline_Wiki:(blahblahblah), change that to read GRIWiki:(blahblahblah). The database was something I set up for offline use only.

2/26/2007 - After several weeks of being down from a server issue, the wiki is back up, and operational. For those who have pages here, please check them for any errors of content, and either edit them yourselves, or inform Jen, Thad or myself.
